This bass is a stick fretted fretless. The neck is only fretted up to the 12th fret, and just under the E and A strings.

Twin neck flying V bass. This features a standard fretted and frettless neck.

Here we can see two Stick basses. One is a regular stick fretted to the 12th fret under all 4 strings, the top bass is a Stick fretted fretless.
