I wanted a new bass guitar so I looked at various makes and found that, really they are made in factories and any one in particular could be one of many more cloned. I wanted something unique so I looked on Doug Wilkes’s web site and arranged a meeting with Doug to discuss what I needed.

My 3 wishes were:

1 A Jazz bass.
2 The colour to match my eye colour.
3 To sound like Andy rourkes bass from the smiths.

Doug granted my 3 wishes. I visited the bass weekly over 2 months to see it being hand crafted. When it was finished It was perfection.

My brother is a pro drummer and can make a kid's drum kit sound fantastic, however I am not a pro bassist but the guitar Doug made for me enables me to play with so much more confidence due to it’s smooth nature and shape which was made to gel with myself.

The neck is made of solid maple with rosewood fingerboard and the body is made from ash. This giving a solid real feel and pleasure to own and play.
